HepCBC is an umbrella organisation comprising a variety of autonomous organisations, each of which is dedicated to educating and advocating for those infected and affected by HCV. It is the agency of record for the Hepatitis C Council of BC, an organisation which encompasses most of the support groups in British Columbia.

HepCBC is the home of the hepc.bull, Canada's most up-to-date, informative and pertinent hepatitis C bulletin. The bulletin can be delivered to your home, or viewed on the Web and/or downloaded as a hyperlinked pdf. You might need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file. Back issues are also available online as pdf's.

HepCBC also updates and distributes Peppermint Patti's FAQs©. The latest version (Version 7, FAQv7 March, 2006) contains a completely updated section on treatment and research.  We are pleased to announce that both English and Spanish versions of Peppermint Patti's FAQs are available for viewing on this site.

HepCBC also distributes its own Pamphlet Series. Currently we have 8 pamphlets available: HCV & Pregnancy; HCV & The Beauty Industry; HCV & Sexual Transmission; and HCV & Drugs; HCV & Treatment; HCV & Seniors; HCV & Disability Benefits; Helping a Friend or Family Member with HCV. The text of these pamphlets is available in HTML, and the pamphlets themselves can be downloaded as pdf's.

HepCBC also runs the HepCAN list, an online information and support group. HepCAN has chat, talk, community calendars, polls, and an easily searchable database where you can look for the latest accurate treatment information, read the latest warnings, or just meet others with hepatitis C and learn more about coping.

HepCBC was the first hepatitis C organisation in Canada to place HCV Awareness Ads on public transportation.

HepCBC works with  advocacy groups, such as the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities, and the Legal Services Society, as well as with peer support organisations in order to obtain disability and health benefits for those with hepatitis C.  HepCBC also produces and updates The Advocate's Guide to Hepatitis C: A Handbook of Symptoms and Their Causes.

HepCBC provides professional-level information sessions on HCV to healthcare workers as well as to the general and the infected public.

HepCBC actively monitors the hepatitis C information networks and the relevant medical journals for the latest updates on research, treatment & clinical trials . We also issue warnings on possible drug interactions on the HepCAN list and in the hepc.bull.

HepCBC maintains the most up-to-date HCV community library in British Columbia.
